Foods that increase height in adults
Height has always been a cause of concern for all of us. People of short stature often suffer from a low level of confidence and inferiority when they come face to face with their higher counterparts. While, there are a range of products available on the market that promise an increase in height, they often don't work as expected. Primarily, height depends on genes and the right kind of food and proper exercise to a certain extent. Men continue to grow up to the age of twenty-five, while women reach full height at eighteen or nineteen.
The height is regulated by a type of hormone called human growth hormone (HGH). It is secreted by the pituitary gland which increases the height of the body. Therefore, it is advised to take foods that help the HGH function.

Although the body height is genetically determined, it is also a known fact that growth depends on some external factors and nutrition is one of them. Low height can be the result of slow growth due to inadequate nutrition. Therefore, following a balanced diet is absolutely essential for improving growth prospects, particularly during the adolescent years to achieve a well-built body. Correct food and exercise is necessary to achieve the right height and body weight. Make sure your body receives different types of nutrients to build strong muscles, ligaments and tendons. A lot of calcium, minerals, vitamins and proteins should be included in your diet.
A. Proteins:
Proteins are the constituent elements of our body and therefore can contribute to increasing height by building various tissues. There are amino acids that are designed for growth hormones and are essential for maintaining healthy bones, muscles, tissues, organs, skin and teeth. They also act as enzymes that stimulate biochemical reactions in the body such as digestion, breathing and excretion. Lack of protein can cause various health problems such as loss of muscle mass, abnormal growth, weak immune system and inadequate mental development.
Therefore, carbohydrates should be replaced with protein-rich foods such as fish, eggs, milk and legumes. Proteins are a necessary ingredient in a food to increase height.
B. Minerals:
Foods containing minerals such as magnesium, phosphorus, fluorine, iodine, iron and manganese also play an important role in increasing body height and growth.
Carbonated drinks, excessive salts, sugar, fat and coffee should be limited as they act as calcium inhibitors, negatively affecting growth. Illegal drugs and excessive smoking can also slow down growth and have other harmful health effects.
C. Vitamins:
Vitamin D is vital for the development of strong and healthy bones and its deficiency can lead to reduced growth, weak bones and a short status. Furthermore, it is required by the body for calcium absorption. In addition to vitamin D, other vitamins are also needed such as vitamin A, vitamin B1, vitamin B2 or riboflavin, vitamin C or ascorbic acid and vitamin F for normal growth. These are mostly contained in fruits and vegetables.
1. Milk:
Milk is an excellent source of calcium. Furthermore, it has vitamin A that preserves calcium in the body. It also contains proteins that help build our cells. Milk can be easily digested and facilitates maximum assimilation of proteins. Skim milk is fat-free and contains 100% protein. Every day at least 2 or 3 glasses of milk are recommended.
2. Dairy products:
In addition to milk, dairy products should also be consumed to have an effect on height. Dairy products such as cheese, paneer, yogurt, whipped cream and ice cream are rich in vitamins A, B, D and E. They also contain protein and calcium. Vitamin D and calcium are essential for growth. Vitamin D deficiency can result in low height gain.
3. Fruit and vegetables:
In addition to increasing height, fruits and vegetables play a crucial role in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. They are a great source of vitamins, fiber, potassium and folate. Vitamin A helps in the development of bones and tissues. Fruits such as melon, grapefruit, papaya, mango, passion fruit, watermelon and apricot are abundant in vitamin A. Vitamin A is also found in vegetables such as carrots, peas, squash, broccoli, spinach, cabbage, sweet potatoes etc. fruits, berries, potatoes and tomatoes also contain vitamin C which helps in healthy bone growth and contributes to a person's height.
4. Chicken:
The chick is one of the highest sources of protein among animal foods. In fact, it provides more protein to the body for building tissues and muscles.
5. Beef:
In addition to chicken, meat is also an important source of protein, but it also contains fat that increases cholesterol levels.
6. Starches and cereals:
Starches and cereals are the main sources of energy in our body. In addition, they supply vitamin B, fiber, iron, magnesium and selenium. Since they supply the necessary calories, their consumption should be increased, especially during puberty, when children go through a rapid growth phase. Brown rice, popcorn, whole wheat and whole wheat pasta are useful for proper growth.
7. Eggs:
Eggs are also a good source of protein. Their white albumen has 100% protein but you should avoid the yoke since it contains fat. Eggs also contain vitamin B2, which is also known as riboflavin. In order to increase height, 3 to 6 eggs should be taken every day.
8. Soy:
Soybeans contain the highest proteins of all vegetarian foods. Pure proteins contained in soybeans improve bone and tissue mass. To increase the height, 50 grams of soy is recommended every day. Vegetarians can meet their protein needs from extremely nutritious soy beans.
9. Oatmeal:
Oatmeal is also a wonderful source of vegetable protein. Helps increase muscle mass and reduce fat. It is recommended to take 50 grams of oatmeal for breakfast every day.
10. Coral calcium:
As the name suggests, coral calcium is obtained from marine corals. Helps increase bone mass, thus causing bone growth in length. This calcium should be taken at an early age to achieve maximum results.
